What is Bateman Manufacturing?

Bateman Manufacturing was established in 1989 in Barrie, Ontario. At that time Bateman manufactured attachments for excavators, loaders and material handlers for the construction, demolition, and forestry industries. In 2002, Bateman moved to Orillia, Ontario and increased production of Orange Peel Grapples, and Demolition Grapples, introducing more products to the Recycling and Demolition industry. In 2011, Bateman moved to a 35,000 sq. ft. facility in Shanty Bay, Ontario in response to the increased demand for Bateman products. Today Bateman Manufacturing is proud to supply products both domestically and internationally under GRYB in Quebec, Canada.

The Position

We are looking for an energetic, hardworking individual to join our team. This posting is for a full-time Material Handler. The hours of this position are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm. The successful applicant will be eligible for benefits after the 3-month probationary period.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Asist with off-loading trucks
• Assist shipper/reciver with checking shipment to verify the product, weight and other related information
• Transport various sizes/quantities of product and materials throughout the facility
• Load, unload, move and stock products using material handling devices
• Pull and prepare product for shipment and assist with movement of product when shipping or receiving
• At all times and independently, ensure the order and cleanliness of the storage space
• Ensure that operators or departments have all the material they need to work
• Ensure safety and stability of the pallet/load prior to moving
• Perform other operations related to the operation of the plant
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· 1-3 years’ experience required in a warehouse/manufacturing setting

· Valid certification to operate material handling devices

· Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment

· Ability to lift heavy materials

· Communication skills and team work

· Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent

· Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

· Knowledge of choosing proper parameter of machines and materials
